Jcrew Chino Shorts - i love the BRIGHT yellow!
chino shorts work really well if you are petite like me - just make sure they are the shorter kind (3" to 5" at jcrew). plus the BRIGHT colour just fits so well with the whole Spring theme. i happened to have a green belt that added to the "Spring Value" and made the shorts stand out more. pair it with a top of a simpler colour so as to not distract too much away from the awesome-ness that is the shorts. dressing with shorts is tricky when matching it with an appropriate top which makes the shorts+petite height a hit or miss. also works well with a simple slim-fit tank and you don't have to tuck it in!
